Musings of an Eclectic Scribe

Exploring topics to write about

Winter is Coming

Gone is the riot of sound and color
Which assaulted our senses
Like a jackhammer
For the last two months.

          Winter is Coming

The maniacle joy
Has turned into a post holiday drearyness
Which matches the grey sky
That drapes across the world.

           Winter is Coming

The wind whips off the cold bay
Slinging tiny shards of moisture
That penatrate to the bone
And sends the soul into dismay.

           Winter is Coming

Time for the world to slumber
And dream of a day when the
Sun will return,
And dream of basking in its warmth.
But for now,

           Winter is Here

Yeah it was that sort of day that makes you think the sun will never shine again LOL. Of course today it is sunny but way too cold for me!

I left the gray skies behind when I moved to my island retreat.

Thanks for posting. It reminded me of how fortunate I am to have blue ocean and sky surrounding me.

Thank you authorsbamazing! I was looking out my window at the gloom and I just had to get it out of my head LOL. Brother Dave, where in the universe are you that you are fortunate enough to escape the chill? Thank you both for visiting.
